Burgas will receive additional funding for the renovation of residential buildings. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Minister Ivan Ivanov, and Mayor Dimitar Nikolov inspected the renovation of one of the first 30 buildings under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP). Mayor Nikolov assured that work on all RRP-approved buildings will begin on June 1st. In "Meden Rudnik", he emphasized that 213 buildings meet the criteria, but due to limited resources, work will initially begin on 30. The rest are on a reserve list.
Nikolay Nankov promised that within 5 years, the buildings on the reserve list will also be renovated. He announced an additional 2.5 billion leva in state funding, in addition to the RRP funds. Prime Minister Zhelyazkov defended public funding as a guarantee of security. He acknowledged the delay in the program but assured that the state program would start this year.
