The State Fund "Agriculture" allocated 45.6 million leva for the support of livestock farmers for Campaign 2025. The funds are for cattle, buffaloes, sheep, and goats. Payments will begin in October and November.

The Management Board of the State Fund "Agriculture" (SFM) approved a significant financial package to support livestock breeders for the upcoming Campaign 2025. The total amount allocated for the interventions reaches 45,665,614 leva, equivalent to 23,348,816 euros. The funds are intended for two key interventions: Transitional National Aid for cattle and/or buffalo, not linked to production (TNA1), and Transitional National Aid for ewes and she-goats, linked to production (TNA3).

According to an official announcement from the Fund, these two interventions will be the first payments that the SFM will authorize for Campaign 2025. The decision to distribute the funds was made based on the applications submitted by livestock breeders to participate in the interventions in 2025.

A significant part of the budget, namely up to 25,651,490 leva (13,115,600 euros), is intended to support cattle and buffalo breeders. The remaining part, up to 20,014,124 leva (10,233,216 euros), will be directed to farmers raising ewes and she-goats under the TNA3 intervention.

The distribution of funds will be carried out within certain deadlines. The payment of funds under TNA1 is expected to be completed by the end of October. Livestock breeders participating in TNA3 can expect their payments in November.

Financial support under the two interventions is in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/2115 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 2 December 2021. This regulation establishes the rules for support under the Strategic Plans for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). According to the regulation, transitional national aid can only be granted to sectors that received national top-ups in 2013.

It is important to note that in 2025, the financial package for each of the Transitional National Aid schemes will be reduced by 5 percent compared to the size of the corresponding national top-up scheme in 2013.

The Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) recalls that the budget for the two interventions for Campaign 2024 was in the amount of up to 49,357,848 leva.
