Denitsa Sacheva: The budget for next year will be discussed

Speaking to journalists, Denitsa Sacheva, Deputy Chair of the GERB-SDS parliamentary group, stated that a new session of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation is expected to be scheduled next week. All parameters related to the budget for next year will likely be discussed at this council.

Commenting on the current situation, Sacheva emphasized that employers are showing understanding of the situation. She expressed confidence that they will demonstrate the necessary cooperation, given the complex situation the country is in, and in which the budget is presented as the only possible solution.

Ms. Sacheva clarified that this budget implements the laws adopted over the past four years. She added that remuneration is one of the main points of contention and discussion at the moment.

Asked about the possibility of reconsidering the increase in the social security contribution and the tax on dividends, Sacheva answered in the negative. She stressed that reconsideration is not possible because all revenues are needed. The Deputy Chair of the GERB-SDS parliamentary group pointed out that the law is being implemented as adopted, with regard to the minimum wage, which is linked to a number of social payments.

"If there are more reasonable proposals for how to raise revenues, we are ready to discuss them, but to this moment we have not heard any such, except for criticisms of the budget," Sacheva added.

On Friday, Stanislav Popdonchev, Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), announced in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio that a session of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation is scheduled for November 13.

It is important to note that employers' organizations refused to attend the last meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation and expressed disagreement with the parameters in the draft state budget.
