A military ritual in "Atanas Sirekov" square gave a solemn start to the celebrations dedicated to Bulgaria"s Independence Day.
The event, enveloped in an atmosphere of patriotism and solemnity, brought together representative military units from the Burgas garrison, as well as numerous veterans from various military formations.
Among the many officials and citizens present at the ceremony, Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, Deputy Mayor Diana Savateva, the Chairman of the Municipal Council Mikhail Hadjiyanev, the Governor Vladimir Krumov, MPs and municipal councilors stood out.
They all witnessed the solemn raising of the flags of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Municipality of Burgas and the European Union _mdash_ symbols of national identity and the country"s European integration.
The festive atmosphere was complemented by a solemn prayer service for the prosperity of Bulgaria, served by priests from the Burgas Orthodox Diocese.
Led by a representative of His Eminence Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven, the prayer gave a deep spiritual dimension to the celebrations.
In harmony with the religious rite, the Burgas Wind Orchestra performed "The Hymn of Independence" _mdash_ a composition written by the bandmaster of the 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment Georgi Shagunov just hours after Prince Ferdinand read the Manifesto of Independence.
The melody, performed with emotion and dignity, penetrated the hearts of those present, reminding them of the historical significance of this day.
The celebrations, organized by the Municipality of Burgas, continued with the laying of wreaths and flowers before the monument to the 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment _mdash_ a gesture of homage and reverence to the memory of those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria.
A touching requiem prayer completed the commemoration, elevating the sacrifice of the soldiers to immortality.
In the evening, dozens of Burgas residents gathered in "Atanas Sirekov" square, immersed in the charm of a folklore concert performed by the "Atanas Manche" ensemble, concluding the day with a touch of tradition and national pride.
