On June 20, 2025, a large-scale online forum was held, dedicated to logistics challenges and transportation opportunities in the Black Sea region. The event was initiated by the Business Council of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) under the leadership of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs.
Ziya Hadjili, Secretary General of the Azerbaijani organization, opened the discussion with the categorical position that logistics and trade are determining factors for economic growth. He emphasized the potential for attracting direct foreign investments in strategic sectors.
Ambassador Dimitrios Ralis, Deputy Secretary General of BSEC, complemented the significance of the initiative. In his expert presentation, he highlighted the need to improve transport connectivity between Black Sea countries.
A key moment in the presentation was the focus on intermodal transport as a modern mechanism for efficient movement of goods and services. Ralis emphasized that coordinated logistics efforts are an essential element in building modern transport infrastructure.
Among the participants were established representatives of the business community, including a delegation from the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The forum provided a platform for exchanging expert opinions and developing joint strategies.
An important highlight was the announcement of the upcoming change in lead chairmanship. Bulgaria will take over the leadership of BSEC in the second half of 2025, with BCCI chairing the Organization's Business Council.
Participants reached a consensus on the need to continue dialogue and deepen regional cooperation. Upcoming initiatives will be further communicated by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The webinar reinforced the importance of international trade platforms as a key instrument for economic development and regional integration in the modern global economy.
