The budget of Burgas for 2025 - Guarantee for security and perspective

On May 20, 2025, the Municipal Council of Burgas approved the city's budget for the current year. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov described the document as balanced, conservative and sustainable, ensuring security for the residents of Burgas in turbulent times marked by military conflicts, economic crises and polarization.

According to Nikolov, the budget will provide funding for a wide range of beneficiaries - socially vulnerable groups, culture, sports, education, healthcare, as well as for infrastructure improvements that will facilitate the daily life of working citizens.

Although the budget will be implemented for half of the planned annual period, Nikolov considered this a challenge for the municipal administration. Among the key projects to be implemented are a large-scale pediatric care program and the construction of a student campus - initiatives that are usually undertaken by the state, but in Burgas will be carried out at the local level.

The mayor emphasized that the budget provides a perspective for the long-term development of the city, launching projects that will be built upon in the coming decades. He thanked the municipal councilors for the support they have shown to the citizens of Burgas and to the vision for the future of the city.
