The mayor of Burgas awarded 97 educators for their contribution to education.

At a solemn ceremony at the Congress Center on May 22, 2025, Mayor Dimitar Nikolov honored 97 Burgas educators for their contribution to education. In his speech, he emphasized the role of teachers in building the future of Burgas and Bulgaria, assuring them that the municipal administration is working to improve the material base, methodologies, and conditions for professional development.

The Head of the Regional Education Inspectorate (REI) - Burgas, Valentina Kamalyeva, also congratulated the educators for their efforts in the education of children, who are the future of the country. During the ceremony, certificates and awards were presented to teachers who had worked most actively and successfully throughout the year.

Among the awardees were teachers from nurseries and kindergartens, primary, secondary, specialized, and vocational schools in Burgas and the region. Educators from the Burgas Free University, the Branch of Sofia University, the National Academy of Arts, and the Theater College in Burgas were also honored.

The event was accompanied by musical performances by student ensembles and presenters from the Theater College. It was organized by the Municipality of Burgas as the culmination of the celebrations dedicated to May 24, and as a gesture of gratitude for the work and results of the educators throughout the year.

Among the guests at the ceremony were the Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov, the Chairman of the Municipal Council Mihail Hadzhiyanov, the Head of the REI - Burgas Valentina Kamalyeva, the Deputy Mayor for Education Mihail Nenov, the Rector of the Burgas Free University Prof. Milen Baltov, and other representatives of educational institutions in the region.
