Burgas Writer Ivan Suhinanov Nominated for "Yordan Radichkov" Award

Burgas, Bulgaria - The only representative of Burgas among the nominees for the sixth edition of the prestigious national award "Yordan Radichkov" is the writer Ivan Suhivanov. The awards ceremony will take place on October 24th in Berkovitsa.

Suhivanov is nominated for his book "Late Trains, Rainy", published by the publishing house "Libra Skorp". He is known in literary circles as an author, university lecturer and long-time editor-in-chief of the magazine "More".

The competition for the "Yordan Radichkov" award is contested, with other established authors also participating in the race. Among them are: Boyan Tonchev with the work "Endless End of the World", published by "Zhanet 45"; Dobrina Kostadinova with "Short Stories", published by Academy "Knowledge"; Lyuboslava Traykova with "Roots and Lights", published by "Zhanet 45"; Petar Marchev with "The Indian Who Drank My Watermelon", published by "Ergo"; Plamen Antonov with "Up the River Backwards", published by "Zhanet 45"; and Simeon Botev with "The Inevitable Heir", also published by "Zhanet 45".

The evaluation of the works is entrusted to a competent jury, chaired by the critic and writer Mitko Novkov. Its members also include the writer and winner of last year's award Deyan Enev, the writer Pencho Kovachev, the representative of Berkovitsa Municipality – the literary figure and philologist Iva Vasileva, as well as the writer Goran Atanasov.

In addition to the presentation of the three main prizes, on October 24th two additional awards will be presented by the highly respected jury. These awards are the "Fierce Mood" award and the debut award "Attempt to Fly".
