Between May 13 and 15, 2025, representatives of the Burgas Municipality participated in the third partner meeting of the CLEAR CITIES project - Promoting Carbon-Free Waste Management Policies for Sustainable and Safe Cities. The program of the visit included presentations, discussions and tours of key facilities and initiatives in Ljubljana and its surroundings, such as the Regional Waste Management Center in Ljubljana (RCERO) - the largest environmental project in Slovenia, the Rog Creative Centre, where projects such as robotic waste sorting, a communication strategy for waste management and the Knof network for textile reuse were presented, Voka - Snaga and its PAPLAB division - which develops circular solutions for the processing of invasive plants, the KOTO company - which has implemented advanced waste treatment technologies, the Aquafil plant - where the innovative ECONYL® recycling system for nylon is applied, as well as the first "Library of Things" in Slovenia - a place for sharing and borrowing items among citizens.
The participation of the Burgas Municipality in the meeting was part of its commitment to sustainable development and the implementation of good practices in waste management.
