The local administration of Burgas has officially launched a selection procedure for cultural initiatives under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The initiative is part of a large-scale national scheme with code BG-RRP-11.021, aimed at supporting local cultural policies.
The key objective of the program is targeted financing of cultural projects through a competitive mechanism. The municipality will provide funds based on precisely developed selection criteria, in accordance with the requirements of Article 36 of the Law on Culture Protection and Development.
Eligible activities include developing new cultural products, upgrading existing events, and creating innovative combinations of cultural content. The scope is extremely wide - from theater productions to musical performances, and projects in visual arts, literature, dance, and architecture.
Project proposals will be accepted in a specially developed electronic system within a short time frame - from July 1 to July 11, 2025. The deadline for implementing approved initiatives is fixed to March 31, 2026.
For maximum transparency and support of potential applicants, the municipality is organizing an online information meeting on July 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Those wishing to participate must submit a request by email by 5:00 PM on July 2.
Full methodological guidelines and details about the procedure will be published on the official website of the "Culture" fund at the beginning of next week. All interested cultural operators can familiarize themselves with the conditions at: https://www.culturefundburgas.bg/Site
Participants who confirm their attendance at the information meeting will receive personal access through the ZOOM platform by 11:00 AM on the day of the event. This will further facilitate communication and clarification of application specifics.
The initiative is an exceptional opportunity for local artists to receive financial support for the implementation of innovative cultural projects, while simultaneously contributing to the development of the urban cultural environment.
