The Municipal Council of Burgas unanimously adopted the proposal of Mayor Dimitar Nikolov to develop a Detailed Spatial Plan - Street Regulation Plan (PUP-PUR) for the expansion of Odrin Street in the section from the end of the "Tovarna Gara" road junction to the beginning of the Dolno Ezerovo neighborhood. The street is envisaged as a main artery connecting the center of Burgas with the neighborhood, but over time it has been overloaded with heavy vehicles serving the industrial zone of the city. Its capacity has been exhausted, and the condition of the road surface in the section from the road junction to the neighborhood has deteriorated drastically.
The Municipality of Burgas has already reconstructed and expanded Odrin Street from the Trapezitsa roundabout to the "Tovarna Gara" road junction, and in this section, it is now a four-lane road. The project developed by the municipal administration envisages Odrin Street to become a four-lane road in the section from the road junction to the Dolno Ezerovo neighborhood, with the construction of a bicycle lane and local lanes.

Mayor Dimitar Nikolov stated that the adoption of the proposal removes the last obstacle for the Road Infrastructure Agency (API) to proceed with the implementation of the project. He called on the municipal councilors to seek the assistance of the parliamentary groups and the deputies from Burgas to accelerate the repair and expansion of the road section, which will not only improve access to the neighborhood but also open up opportunities for the development of new land in the western part of the city.
