The Municipal Council unanimously adopted a decision that could bring significant benefits to the cultural heritage and tourism potential of Burgas Bay. The councilors gave the green light to Burgas Municipality to apply for funding from the National "Culture" Fund for a project entitled "Chengene Skele – a journey through the history of Burgas Bay".
The aim of the project is to promote the rich tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the local fishing community.
Along with funding from the National "Culture" Fund, Burgas Municipality is committed to providing its own funds for the implementation of this idea. Delving deeper into the topic, it becomes clear that the initiative will be led by the Municipal Enterprise "Tourism", which plans to create a completely new tourism product. A central part of this project is the renovation of the exhibition house "Evksinski Pont". This place will become an interactive center where visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in history through innovative means.
One of the key attractions will be the new virtual guide, presented in the form of a film. In addition, models will be exhibited in the house, which will give a more complete idea of maritime affairs and the life of fishermen in Chengene Skele. Two of these exhibits will be created through 3D printing, providing an interactive experience accessible to children, visually impaired visitors and tourists. Plexiglass figures will also be made, which will be placed on the walls in the exhibition space. These figures will be integrated with the virtual guide, which will illuminate them during the story, creating a captivating and informative experience.
In addition to the exhibition part, the project envisages the creation of an information booklet. It will collect valuable and unique fish recipes for the region, stories from the lives of local fishermen, information about the different species of marine inhabitants in the area and curious facts about them. This booklet will be a valuable resource for tourists and locals, deepening their connection with the cultural heritage of the region.
