Burgas distinguishes young talents in the art on the Day of Bulgarian enlightenment

On May 21, 2025, the Municipality of Burgas announced the names of the two nominees for the "Young Artist of the Year" award for 2025 - Maria Milanova and Vulcho Vulchev. The award was established in 2007 in the name of the great artist Rusi Stoyanov and is traditionally presented on May 24 - the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture.

The official award ceremony and the opening of the festive exhibition will take place on May 24 at 12:00 pm. The award will be presented after a session of a 9-member jury, which includes representatives of the Municipality of Burgas, the Burgas Art Gallery "Petko Zadgorska" and the Board of the Association of Burgas Artists.

The first recipient of the "Young Artist of the Year" award is Jordan Angelov. This year, the festive exhibition for May 24 includes works by 50 authors - established masters and young artists, representing a wide genre diversity of painting, graphics and sculpture. The curators of the exhibition are Stoyko Sakaliev, Georgi Petkov and Veselin Atanasov.
