The Burgas Disinfection Station announces a large-scale mosquito control campaign from September 23 to 30, 2025. Treatments will be carried out at night in key areas of the city, including parks and residential complexes, to limit the spread of diseases.

Burgas Disinfection Station is undertaking a large-scale campaign to combat mosquitoes in the city. This decision was made in response to numerous reports from citizens signaling a significant increase in the mosquito population.

The operation is of paramount importance for the comfort and health of Burgas_q_ residents, aiming to limit the spread of potential mosquito-borne diseases.

Treatment Schedule

The schedule for imagocide treatments has been officially announced and provides for the use of cold/warm aerosol. The goal is to treat the main breeding and spreading grounds of mosquitoes, including parks, gardens, and biotope zones. The campaign will cover several key areas of Burgas, and the planned activities are scheduled for the period from September 23 to 30, 2025.

  • September 23 – Primorski Park, the area of Solnitsi and Ezero Park
  • September 24 – Slaveykov Park, Sv. Troitsa Park in the Slaveykov residential complex and the residential complex itself
  • September 25 – Izgrev and Iztok parks in the Izgrev residential complex and the respective residential complex
  • September 26 – Primorski Park and Ezero Park
  • September 29 – Gardens in the Lazur, Vazrazhdane, Central Garden of Children and Zornitsa residential complexes, Dolno Ezerovo quarter
  • September 30 – Mineralni Bani – Vetren Park and biotope zones in the Vetren quarter

Treatments are planned for the night hours, between 00:30 and 04:30. This time was chosen to minimize discomfort for citizens. However, Burgas Disinfection Station Ltd. reserves the right to change the schedule in case of unfavorable weather conditions, such as rain, strong wind, etc. Changes will be announced additionally. The peace of mind of the residents is a priority, and conducting the operation at night is intended to minimize any disruption to daily life. It remains to be seen how the mosquito situation will develop after the completion of the disinfection activities.
