Burgas: Cultural Events in the Museums

The Burgas Regional Historical Museum welcomes autumn with a rich cultural diversity.

Burgas is transformed into a center of cultural tourism in September and October, thanks to a rich program of guest exhibitions in the four expositions of the Regional Historical Museum. The exhibitions offer an impressive journey through time and cultures, combining archaeology, ethnography, natural sciences, and world photographic art.

Archaeological Museum

In the Archaeological Museum on bul. "Aleko Bogoridi" 21, visitors can enjoy three impressive exhibitions until the end of October. Among the most valuable exhibits are the golden mask and ring of the Thracian king Teres, provided by the "Iskra" Historical Museum – Kazanlak. The richness of Thracian culture is further emphasized by the exhibition of the Borovsko treasure, provided by the Regional Historical Museum – Ruse. Completing the triptych of archaeological values is an exhibition of red-figured pottery from Apollonia Pontica, provided by OCI – Sozopol. The exhibition halls seem to come alive, transporting visitors to the era of the great Thracian rulers and their rich heritage.

Ethnographic Exposition

The Ethnographic Exposition on ul. "Slavyanska" 69 offers a journey into the world of the Thracian woman. The exhibition "The Wonderful World of the Thracian Woman", prepared by the Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv, reveals the role of women in Thracian society, their customs, traditional clothing, and fine jewelry. The exhibition is distinguished by a detailed and in-depth presentation of women"s lives in this ancient civilization.

Natural History Museum

For lovers of astronomy and geology, the Natural History Museum on ul. "Fotinov" 30 offers a journey into outer space. The exhibition "Guests from Space" is dedicated to meteorites found on the territory of Bulgaria. The exhibition provides valuable information about the origin of the Universe and is a real invitation to reflect on the infinity of space and our place in it.

Historical Museum

The cultural journey ends at the Historical Museum on ul. "Lermontov" 31, where until October 31, the international photographic exhibition "National Costume: A Source of Pride and Heritage_q_, organized by the Global Public Diplomacy Network GPDNet – Doha, Qatar, can be seen. The exhibition presents the richness and diversity of traditional costumes from different countries, highlighting traditional clothing as a symbol of cultural identity and national pride. The variety of colors and styles creates a stunning visual spectacle.
