The official data from the Road Police Department at the General Directorate of National Police reveals an optimistic picture regarding road safety in the country. Experts documented 224 fewer serious traffic incidents compared to the same period of the previous year, which represents significant progress in road accident prevention.
Lead analyst Commissioner Maria Boteva emphasized the effectiveness of the administrative measures taken. "Awareness is a key factor in creating a safer road environment," she was categorical during the official presentation of statistical data.
The National Road Safety Day, which has been held since 2019 by decision of the Council of Ministers, has become a significant event for drawing public attention to road safety issues. This year's edition in Burgas united the efforts of multiple institutions and organizations.
Among the participants in the initiative were representatives of the Road Police Department, the General Directorate of Fire Safety and Population Protection, municipal and regional administration, the Union of Bulgarian Motorists, the Bulgarian Red Cross, and insurance companies.
The statistics record not only a reduction in incidents, but also specific improvements: 12 fewer fatalities and 223 fewer injured compared to the previous period, which confirms the effectiveness of the comprehensive approach to road safety management.
