The upcoming Burgas Connectivity Forum 2025 will place a special emphasis on the Black Sea region, bringing together representatives from academia, business, the non-governmental sector, politics, diplomatic missions, and international institutions. The official opening of the event, which will be held under the motto "Connecting Nations", will be made by the Mayor of Burgas Municipality, Dimitar Nikolov, and Alexander Beribis, Head of the Western Balkans and Southeastern Europe Directorate at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation - Berlin.
Among the official guests and speakers at the forum will be the President of the Republic of Bulgaria from 2012-2017, Rosen Plevneliev, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bulgaria, Irene Maria Plank, the Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria, Brândușa Ioana Predescu, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria, Zhecho Stankov, and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Pavlin Petrov. They will be joined by prominent experts such as Manuela Naessl - Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office for Bulgaria, Petyo Ivanov - Executive Director of "AEC Kozloduy - New Capacities" EAD, and Sonya Miklai - Managing Director of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The theme of this year's edition of the forum is multilayered connectivity, and key areas such as energy connectivity, regional cooperation and economic growth through partnerships, maritime connectivity and security, digital connectivity, air connectivity and tourism, as well as water resource management will be discussed. The organizers invite all interested parties to participate in the discussions and contribute to building a more connected, sustainable, and secure future for the region.
