A landmark moment in the development of institutional relations between Bulgaria and Hungary occurred during the meeting of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Office. On June 24, 2025, the leaders of the two national patent offices - Ms. Olya Dimitrova and Mr. Farkas - realized a key bilateral meeting.
The forum was dedicated to the prospects for deepening professional partnership in the extremely sensitive area of industrial property. The main focus was placed on interaction mechanisms that could improve the effectiveness of the two institutions.
The result of the negotiations was the signing of an official Memorandum of Understanding. The document provides for a wide range of joint activities, including: large-scale information exchange, transfer of expert practices, organization of joint training initiatives, and conducting professional events.
The strategic goal of the memorandum is to create a closer communication platform between Bulgarian and Hungarian specialists in the field of intellectual property. Through it, the two institutions demonstrate a will to deepen regional cooperation and align professional standards.
