On May 23, the eve of the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Burgas Opera will organize a solemn symphonic concert with works by Bulgarian composers. The program is specially selected by Maestro Yordan Dafov and will be performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Burgas Opera under his baton.
The concert will open with the work "Classical and Romantic" op. 24 for chamber orchestra by Prof. Pancho Vladigerov - considered a contemporary classic among Bulgarian composers. Four of the seven parts of the work will be presented: "Rigaudon", "Sarabande", "Minuet" and "March".
The next work is "Festive Music" /"Psalms and Rituals"/ for chamber orchestra by Vasil Kazandzhiev. The program will also feature "Adagio" for string orchestra by Krasimir Kyurkchiyski.
The concert will conclude with "Bucolics" /Thracian pastoral scenes/ by Konstantin Iliev, including the parts "Plain", "Wedding", "Commotion", "Evening in the Field" and "Celebration". An interesting fact is that the score of "Bucolics" is in the original manuscript of the composer himself and has been kindly provided by the Symphony Orchestra of Pazardzhik.
Tickets for the concert on May 23 can be purchased from the Opera box office, the "Clock" box office, as well as the online platforms Grabo.bg and Eventim.BG.
