The competition in Qingdao took place under extremely difficult conditions - four consecutive days without a single race due to lack of wind and dense fog. Despite this, Alexandra Lukoyanova managed to perform impressively. On the first day of competition, she finished in 14th place, and with the arrival of stronger winds (20-25 knots, with gusts up to 30), she revealed her full potential, winning the first race. In the second race, she was at the front of the group, but a turn just before the finish line deprived her of a top 10 spot. In the last race, Lukoyanova finished 8th, confirming her excellent preparation and her place among the world elite in the ILCA 6 Olympic class.
This success is particularly impressive, given Alexandra's nearly two-year absence from international competitions - a factor that inevitably affects athletic form and motivation. Her results are a clear proof of her class, perseverance, professionalism, and the well-done work of the coaching staff and the Bulgarian Sailing Federation.
Immediately after her return to Bulgaria, Alexandra Lukoyanova joined a training camp of the national team in Primorsko, where she will share her experience with the young competitors. The camp is a preparation for the upcoming European Cup, which will take place at the end of the week in the same place.
