Bulgaria in the European Strategy for the Black Sea

Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov will open a discussion today, which promises to shed light on a key question for the future of the region - "Bulgaria - an active partner in the European strategy for a secure and sustainable Black Sea". The event will be held at the International Congress Center, located in the public access area of Burgas Port, the press service of the Council of Ministers announced.

The upcoming forum is expected to become an important moment for discussing the European Union's strategic approach to ensuring security and sustainable development in the Black Sea region. The question under consideration aims to define Bulgaria's position within the framework of this significant strategy.

Representatives of various institutions and organizations are expected to arrive at the venue to discuss important topics related to the Black Sea. The forum will also present the role of the European Parliament and the EU's vision for a stable and connected Black Sea region. These aspects will be discussed in detail by Christian Vigenin, head of the Delegation of Bulgarian Socialists in the European Parliament.

The meeting's program also includes the participation of Tsvetelina Penkova, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy in the European Parliament. She will discuss energy corridors and strategic connectivity as key elements of the European Black Sea strategy.

The organizers of the forum, the members of the Delegation of Bulgarian Socialists in the European Parliament, have sent invitations to participate to a number of key figures. Among those invited are Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Berievski, Deputy Minister of Interior Filip Popov, Eng. Petar Kanev, head of the Bulgarian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), as well as Prof. Dr. Marusya Lyubcheva, founder of the Black Sea Institute in Burgas, and representatives of the maritime industry. The planned presence of these specialists suggests an in-depth debate and exchange of experience on important issues related to the Black Sea region.
