Bulgaria Will Not Send Troops to Ukraine, Prime Minister Confirmed

During a joint briefing with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov officially stated that the country will not send its troops to the territory of Ukraine. The decision, which, according to the Prime Minister, is final and was made by the National Assembly, outlines the clear boundaries of Bulgaria's involvement in supporting Kyiv.

Zhelyazkov's statement came against the backdrop of a visit by the high-ranking European guest, who arrived in Bulgaria as part of a tour of the capitals of the EU member states. The purpose of Costa's visit is to gather opinions and exchange views on current European and international issues, as well as to learn about the priorities of the individual countries regarding the Multiannual Financial Framework.
