According to information from Politico, based on statements by Fred Fleitz - a former advisor at the White House, US President Donald Trump is considering the introduction of new sanctions against Russia in the coming weeks. Fleitz points out that the head of state is deeply disappointed by the refusal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to seriously discuss peaceful solutions for Ukraine.
Despite the declared readiness to impose sanctions, Fleitz clarifies that Trump will leave "room for negotiations", which casts doubt on the real gravity of the threats. Meanwhile, G7 leaders gathered in Canada are discussing lowering the price cap for Russian oil from $60 to $45 per barrel - a step that would have a significantly more direct effect.
