At the moment, on the "Trakiya" motorway, in four sections in the regions of Sofia, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv and Sliven, repair activities are being carried out, which on holidays and weekends lead to preconditions for traffic difficulties. The Road Infrastructure Agency recommends that drivers traveling in the direction of Sofia-Plovdiv use the first-class road I-8 Sofia-Pazardzhik-Plovdiv, and in the direction of Sofia-Burgas - the Sub-Balkan road I-6 Sofia-Burgas. These two road arteries are in good operating condition and have a significantly larger capacity to handle the traffic in the west-east direction.
Repair activities on the "Trakiya" motorway are ongoing and it is planned to complete the asphalt works in the sections in the regions of Sofia and Plovdiv by June 12. The goal is to complete the construction activities as soon as possible, so as not to hinder citizens and the tourism business during the active summer months. If the weather does not allow, they will continue no later than June 19. After that, curbs, horizontal markings, elastic fences will be laid and the embankments will be completed. The passage will be organized in such a way that there will be two lanes of traffic in each direction to ensure the necessary traffic capacity.
The Road Infrastructure Agency apologizes to drivers for the inconvenience caused, but emphasizes that the activities on the "Trakiya" motorway are necessary to ensure traffic safety. They call on drivers to drive carefully, comply with traffic rules and speed limits, and not take risky overtaking. Up-to-date information on the road situation can be obtained from the website of the RIA - www.api.bg, as well as at tel. 0700 130 20.
