Prolet Gallery presents the paintings of Svilen Blazhev

From September 17 to October 14, art lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition of Svilen Blazhev at Prolet Gallery. The exhibition, prepared specifically for the gallery"s space, will present two of his characteristic thematic cycles " Olives" and "Southern Landscapes".

The works, executed with various techniques " encaustic, oil paints, acrylic emulsion and pigments, promise a unique experience, defined by the depth and energy invested in each painting.

The official opening is scheduled for September 17, between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM, and will provide the public with the opportunity to personally meet the artist. Visitors can expect to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of light and warmth emanating from the southern landscapes and olive trees, symbols of eternity, wisdom and fertility, depicted in Blazhev"s works. The intimate setting of the gallery is expected to contribute to a full appreciation of the artistic message.

Svilen Blazhev

Svilen Blazhev, born in 1953, graduated in mural painting from the National Academy of Arts, in the class of Professor Dimo Zaimov. His rich career is marked by numerous accolades.

  • Winning a competition for a creative residency in Cite des Arts, Paris in 1995.
  • Awarding of the Grand Prix at the International Triennial of Realistic Painting in 1987.
  • Receiving prestigious national awards " Struma" for lifetime contribution to art, "Vladimir Dimitrov " Master"" and "Zahari Zograf" for painting.
  • Awarded the Order of Saints Cyril and Methodius " First Degree.

His works are part of renowned collections, including the Sofia City Art Gallery, the National Art Gallery, the Vatican Museum of Modern Art, the Ludwig Collection, the Pushkin Museum, as well as private collections in Finland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Macedonia, England and other countries. Blazhev has held numerous solo exhibitions in Bulgaria " Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Kyustendil, Samokov " and abroad " Limassol, Bucharest, Helsinki, Vienna, Hamburg, Zurich, China " and has also participated in representative exhibitions of contemporary Bulgarian art in Europe and the USA. His name is synonymous with high artistic mastery, establishing him as a leading figure in Bulgarian painting.
