The power of the sea through the lens of Hristo Anestev: photo exhibition in Marinka provokes engagement with the Black Sea

On October 31st, in honor of Black Sea Day, the village of Marinka becomes a hub for all connoisseurs of the sea and artistic photography. In front of the town hall, the open exhibition "Reflections on the Sea", by the Burgas master Hristo Anestev, is already on display. The collection shows the sea as a living, constantly changing organism – both imposing, beautiful and vulnerable.

Anestev's photographs are an artistic bridge between man and nature. Each shot captures a unique moment – the dance of the waves, the reflections of the first rays of the sun, the silence of the shore and the traces of the people for whom the sea is destiny. In this visual narrative, the viewer experiences the salty air, the movement of the water and its silent request – to be preserved.

"Reflections on the Sea" is more than an art exhibition – it is a social appeal and a deeply personal message from the author: not to give up in the fight to preserve marine ecosystems and to realize their decisive role in our daily lives. The exhibition is part of a series of initiatives around Black Sea Day and is present in the calendar of the "Via Pontica" Foundation, Marinka Municipality and the "Marinka 2024" Community Center, with the support of the European Union and the NextGenerationEU fund.

The collection will remain in front of the town hall until November 26, after which it will be exhibited in the town of Chernomorets until the end of December. "Everyone who stops in front of these photographs discovers a piece of their own connection with the sea – and realizes that the future of the marine environment is a shared responsibility."

A photo event that combines art, a social cause and care for the environment, "Reflections on the Sea" reminds us that the beautiful and fragile coastline needs shared care today in order to be preserved for future generations.
