Events in Burgas this weekend promise unforgettable experiences for the whole family! From June 5 to 7, 2026, the city turns into a true stage for art, music, sports, and culture. Interesting events in Burgas have lined up one after another — an Asian festival at Troikata Square, a magical art bazaar in the Sea Garden around Expo Center Flora, Verdi's opera, a charity football match of hope with legend Stiliyan Petrov, a literary forum with authors from all over the world, and a night concert by Preslava. Event halls in Burgas, open-air stages, and park spaces — everything is ready to welcome residents and guests of the seaside city.

Events in Burgas this weekend — prologue

June in Burgas is never quiet. But this year's first summer weekend — from June 5 to 7, 2026 — ranks among the most program-rich in recent years. Cultural events in Burgas today and on Saturday and Sunday include international festivals, a national folklore review, opera, cinema, theater, sports, and a club night with a pop star. You don't have to choose between "art" and "entertainment" — here you have both.

"City of Wonders" — Burgas 2026

The main event of the weekend takes place around the Flora Exhibition Center in the Sea Garden — a three-day free art festival called "City of Wonders". The events in the Burgas Sea Garden this year are special: for the first time, the Kapana Bazaar from Plovdiv is going on a coastal tour, and its first stop is right here. You will see workshops of designers, artists, and craftsmen, art installations, photo zones, and live music from morning to night.

The special participation of "Mayak" — the maritime spirit of Kapana Fest — turns the space around "Flora" into something Burgas has never seen before. Free entry and without prior registration, every day from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Sora Fest 2026 — the Asian festival returns

At the same time, in the very center of the city — at Troikata Square opposite the Tria shopping center — Sora Fest is being held from June 5 to 7, 2026. This is one of the most interesting events in Burgas for fans of Japanese and Asian culture. Expect: a bazaar with authentic products, a cosplay show, anime, a culinary zone with dishes from Asia, masterclasses, interactive children's zones, and musical performances. Participants are coming from all over Bulgaria and abroad. Entry is free, and the atmosphere is guaranteed to be unique.

III Black Sea International Literary Festival

For connoisseurs of the written word — from June 4 to 8, Burgas hosts the third edition of the Black Sea International Literary Festival with the motto "The Black Sea speaks the language of freedom". The program for June 5, 6, and 7 includes meetings with writers from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, Turkey, and Georgia, literary readings, discussions, and book presentations. Among the special guests are Andrey Kurkov, Teodora Dimova, and Elizabeth Kostova. The events are held at the "Peyo Yavorov" Regional Library and at additional venues in the city.

"Match of Hope" — Stiliyan Petrov gathers legends in Burgas

On June 6 (Saturday) from 5:00 PM at Lazur Stadium, one of the most exciting sports and humanitarian events in Burgas for 2026 takes place — the charity "Match of Hope", organized by the Stiliyan Petrov Foundation. The goal is to raise funds for cancer patients and to support Bulgarian football legends Lyuboslav Penev and Petar Hubchev. Famous athletes and public figures will take to the pitch.

Opera, theater, and cinema

Friday, June 5, from 7:00 PM: The Burgas State Opera presents "Il Trovatore" by Giuseppe Verdi — an opera in four acts with orchestra, choir, and ballet. Conductor: Ivan Kozhukharov.

Saturday, June 6, from 7:00 PM: At the Toncho Russev Hall (NHK), the film "The Attachment" is screened — an award-winning 2024 French-Belgian film by Carine Tardieu starring Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.

Saturday, June 6, from 7:00 PM: The Adriana Budevska Drama Theatre performs "The Dance of Death" based on Strindberg.

Sunday, June 7, from 6:00 PM: The gala ballet concert "Harbors" — performances by young artists from the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National School of Music and Stage Arts, at the Toncho Russev Hall (NHK).

Folklore and live music

On June 6 and 7 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the Open Stage "The Snail" in the Seaside Park hosts the VI International Music and Dance Festival "Veleka Fest" — evening concerts and open-air dance performances, with free entry.

On Sunday, June 7, from 4:00 PM at Troikata Square, the X National Folklore Festival "Khoro by the Azure Shore" is held — a jubilee tenth edition with folk dance clubs from all over the country, traditional costumes, and authentic music.

Burgas by night: Preslava @ Dock 5

Saturday, June 6, from 11:00 PM: If the day was full of culture and sports, the night is reserved for pop music. Preslava — one of the brightest stars of the contemporary Bulgarian pop scene — takes the stage at Dock 5 Night Club (Burgas Sea Station). The venue has over 700 seats, screens over 100 m², and state-of-the-art sound and lights.

Outside Burgas: Pomorie on June 7

If you want to combine the weekend with an outing — on June 7 (Sunday) from 7:00 PM on the open stage of the "Prosveta 1888" Community Center in Pomorie (30 km from Burgas), a concert of the "Nestia Art" festival is held. A wonderful occasion to explore the old town, take a walk by the salt pans, and have dinner by the sea.

Exhibitions open all weekend

If you prefer a quieter and more contemplative experience, the events at NHK Burgas and the galleries will not disappoint:

  • "Meeting of Paths or Rush of Colors" — painting by Marko Hadzhikolev and Kalina Rilski. Opens June 5 at 6:30 PM. Sea Casino Cultural Center, "Georgi Baev" Hall. Free entry.
  • "Portrait and Self-Portrait" — works by students of Atanas Atanasov. "Georgi Baev" Gallery. Free entry.
  • "90 Years of BNR" and a retro exhibition of radio equipment. "Atelier R" Gallery, 25 Vazrazhdane St. Free entry.
  • AVIARIUM BURGAS — over 30 species of parrots. Expo Center "Flora". Every day 10:00–14:00 and 17:00–21:00.
  • Permanent exhibition of the "Petko Zadgorski" Art Gallery — Vl. Dimitrov-Maistora, Zlati Boyadzhiev, and others. Tue–Fri: 9:00–18:00, Sat: 9:00–17:00.
