The 17th edition of the Spring Book Fair, organized by the Association "Bulgarian Book", starts today. The official opening will be performed by Vice President Iliyana Yotova. The event will take place in 67 tents, located in the park in front of the National Palace of Culture, with the participation of over 140 exhibitors.
A day after the opening of the fair, the Sofia International Literature Festival for Children and Youth will also begin, which will continue until Children's Day. According to statistics, one third of Bulgarians do not read books at all, although 80% of people in our country consider reading important.
Vice President Iliyana Yotova emphasized that the Bulgarian people were born from the word and literature, noting that every book is a new universe, a world of new knowledge. She warned against attempts to divide Bulgarian authors and called for the unification of writers in the field of culture and education.
