Pomore welcomes the 21st edition of the International Festival of Orthodox Music

On June 11, 2025, Pomorie will welcome hundreds of participants in the 21st edition of the International Festival of Orthodox Music "St. Virgin Mary - It Is Truly Meet". The solemn opening will take place at 6:00 PM in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, with a welcome speech by His Eminence Arseny and Mayor Ivan Alexiev. On the same day, from 8:30 AM in the church, a liturgy will be held, and the miraculous icon that gives the festival its name will be welcomed.

With the permission of the Holy Synod and the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, the icon will leave the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky in the capital and will be exhibited in Pomorie. The relic will travel with a team from the Pomorie Municipality and will be temporarily exhibited for veneration in the Monastery of St. George the Victorious tonight.

The International Festival "St. Virgin Mary - It Is Truly Meet" is the largest forum for Orthodox music in the country. During the five festival days (from June 11 to 15), the approved participants, after careful selection, will present a rich concert program.

For the first time, the miraculous image of the Mother of God arrives in Pomorie in 2013, on the initiative of Mayor Ivan Alexiev. Since then, the welcoming of the icon has become an integral part of the festival and a long-awaited event for all believers.
