Nikolay Nikov, the 2022 amateur world champion, will fight Germany's Yannick Drews at MAX FIGHT 67 on 28 November at the Mladost hall in Burgas, the organisers said. Nikov has fought in Germany for more than two years. Now he is back in the ring at MAX FIGHT.

It will be his first fight in front of a home crowd since his years in Germany. The organisers call the bout one of the toughest tests of his career so far. They say support from the fans should work in his favour.

Drews is 27 and goes by the nickname "Dirty Drews". He has 17 wins, 14 of them by knockout, and 2 losses. He fights in a number of international promotions. Drews has been WBC (World Boxing Council) Muay Thai Asia champion since 2025. In 2026 he also won the German national middleweight belt, so he now holds two titles.

The German is very athletic and changes levels sharply with his strikes. His trademark is a heavy body shot to the liver. His last loss came in Enfusion, where he fought champion Yusuf Kaluta for the world title.

Nikov has 18 professional fights and 11 wins. In Germany he is known as Niko Nikov. He is a six-time national champion there and fights in international promotions. His style is aggressive and entertaining. He won the Ring of Fire belt on a judges' decision over Samuel May, who is well known to local fans, after 5 rounds.

Moldova's Maxim Zaplitny beat Nikov on the judges' scorecards at MAX FIGHT 53, in a bout for the promotion's cup. The same night, Martin Koprivlenski, Borislav Velev "Roy" and Yosif Panov "The Viper" all won.

A few months later, at MAX FIGHT 59, Nikov faced Romania's Vasile Amarite, who has challenged for belts in several promotions, and won. The judges sided with Nikov. It was his first win in the promotion.

Nikov trains with Delyan Slavov, who also works with Teodor Hristov, a Glory star. The Bulgarian is moving back home to be a full member of Slavov's team.
