Municipal Drug Councils and Prevention-Information Centers are organizing a large-scale open doors day that will be held throughout the country. The event will provide free access to expert information about various risk substances such as vape, hookah, energy drinks, snus, laughing gas, drugs, and alcohol.
In Burgas, specifically in the Large Hall of MKC on Gladston Street No. 39, from 10:00 to 17:00, a specialized meeting will be organized for citizens of all age groups. Visitors will have the opportunity to consult with prevention specialists, psychologists, and addiction experts.
Parents will receive targeted methodological guidelines on how to have constructive conversations with their children about the risks of psychoactive substance use. In parallel, those in need of support will be able to receive individual consultations and professional help.
According to the latest data from the European Web Survey on Drugs (EWSD 2024), cannabis remains the most common illegal substance in Europe. Statistics show that 59% of participants over 18 report drug use in the past year, with ecstasy (30%) and cocaine (29%) among the most common alternatives.
It is extremely concerning that less than 3% of users have sought professional help, which underscores the critical need to increase awareness and accessibility of preventive services.
