The prestigious traveling exhibition "The Last 10" will be presented on July 3, 2025, at the Burgas Art Gallery "Petko Zadgorski", as announced by the academic leadership. The initiative aims to showcase the creative potential of young Bulgarian artists and promote the educational system of the National Academy of Arts.
The exhibition brings together approximately 30 paintings, selected by leading professors from the Painting Department. Among the key curators are Prof. Bozhidar Boyadzhiev, Prof. Dr. Kiril Bozhkov, Prof. Dr. Zdravka Vasileva, and chief assistants from various creative studios.
Each professor has nominated five participants - current students or graduates from the past decade. The selection includes representatives from the main body of the National Academy of Arts and its branch in Burgas.
The project has already had successful presentations - in May 2024, the exhibition was hosted at the Art Gallery "Vladimir Dimitrov - Maestora" in Kyustendil, and in December at the gallery "Prof. Teofan Sоkerov" in Lovech.
Among the participants are young talents such as Kristina Kostova, Milen Yovchev, Ivet Dimitrova, Alexander Radev, Yordan Velkov, and over 20 more promising authors. Their collective exhibition symbolizes the continuity and dynamics of contemporary Bulgarian fine arts.
The project is funded through an internal competition for scientific and artistic activities of the National Academy of Arts for 2025. The Academy expresses special thanks to the leadership of the Burgas Art Gallery for their assistance in organizing the exhibition.
The historical context of the initiative is impressive - the Painting specialty was among the first opened in 1896, when the institution was called the Drawing School. Today, it continues to be a key center for training young Bulgarian artists.
The event on July 3 at 6:00 PM will provide an opportunity for the public to get up close with the latest trends in contemporary Bulgarian painting and discover future creative talents.
