Games, skits and activities with a teddy bear called Mecho taught Burgas children healthy habits on the fourth day of Healthy Eating Week. Burgas council is organising the event.

This article follows our earlier report on the start of Healthy Eating Week in Burgas kindergartens. As we wrote then, the week began on 12 October.

At Nursery No. 1 "Burgas Childhood", the visit from Mecho was a show. The children welcomed him and showed him how they look after themselves, which foods to choose and which habits help children grow up healthy and active.

Ten more kindergartens took part: "Zvunche", "Plamuche", "Rayna Knyaginya", "Kalinka", "Delfin", "Detelina", "Koledarche", "Slaveyche", "Zlatnoto klyuche" and "Veselushko", along with nurseries No. 3 and No. 5. They held games, theatre shows and hands-on activities.

The council said it wants children to get used to healthy eating and good habits from the earliest age. The subject should feel close and easy to understand, and looking after their health should become a fun part of everyday life.

The week runs under the motto "Healthy food – a superpower for all children!" and lasts until 16 October.
