Exhibition in Burgas: The Life and Work of St. Sophronius of Vratsa

On February 6th at 12:00 PM at the Ethnographic Museum on 69 Slavyanska St. in Burgas, the exhibition "The Hope for Bulgarian Freedom - Life and Work of St. Sophronius of Vratsa" will be opened.

The exhibition presents the life and work of our prominent clergyman, writer and author of the first printed book in the modern Bulgarian language, "Nedelnik" (1806), as well as the autobiographical novel "Life and Sufferings of the Sinful Sophronius".

In addition to information boards, visitors will have the opportunity to see original editions of "Nedelnik" and other unique books and manuscripts from the funds of the Museum of the Renaissance - Varna and RIM-Burgas. Among the most interesting exhibits is a binding made personally by Sophronius of Vratsa.

During the exhibition's visit, a talk will be offered to students, which covers interesting facts about the personality and work of our great Revival figure, as well as about the Liberation of Burgas. This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to touch history in a lively and interactive way.
