Mariana Sarbova's Exhibition in Burgas

Today, an exhibition inspired by the northernmost part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and the childhood memories of artist Mariana Sarbova was opened in the art space of Barbossa in Burgas.

The exhibition, which will remain until November 19, presents landscapes recreating the infinity and solitude of the northern coast, seen through the prism of the author"s personal experiences.

"I was born in Dobrich and these northeastern lands have shaped a part of me. There, the land, the sea, and the sky are vast, boundless. I"ve always been impressed by the feeling of infinity, solitude, timelessness, which have been imprinted on me when thinking about it. I saw the paintings there, in the north, around Shabla and Tyulenovo, I painted them in Sofia and I"m exhibiting them now in Burgas. Three favorite places that I feel like shelters"

Her words reveal nostalgia for her native Dobrich, although she currently lives mainly in Burgas, dividing her time between the southern city and Sofia.

She notes that despite moving geographically away from the northern coast, she regularly returns to the region, including Balchik,

"to get my dose of the northern sea"

The exhibition at Barbossa is carefully selected.

The atmosphere of the gallery itself, as Sarbova emphasizes,

"A particularly nice sign was that objects similar to those from my paintings were present in the Barbossa space, and I thank the team for the invitation"

The artist hints at interesting parallels between the exhibits and the setting of the gallery, leaving the pleasure of discovering them to the visitors themselves.

Mariana Sarbova is known not only for her painting. She is a successful architect, part of Motto studio, with a rich portfolio of projects in Burgas, including the reconstruction of the NKhK Cultural Center, the renovation of "Magazia 1" at the Sea Port, the design of the ethnographic exhibition at the "Chengene Skale" cultural and tourist complex, the renovation of "The Wall of Fairy Tales" in the Sea Garden and several themed playgrounds.

She also participated in the design of the "Toplocentra" cultural center in Sofia.

Sarbova is also known for the animated video for the song "We are salty beings" by Mila Robert, realized within the framework of the "Laguna of Life" project.

Her diverse creative activities prove an exceptional personality with a wide range of talents.

Among her current commitments is the curatorship of the eighth edition of the International Festival for Contemporary Art "Water" in Burgas, which will be held in the space known as "The Hole_q_, between October 6 and 8.

The exhibition at Barbossa is just one of many proofs of her contribution to the cultural life of Burgas and the whole country.
