Exhibition "Boat in the Shadows" at the Sea Casino from November 11th

The exhibition "Boat in the Shadows" will open on November 11th in the "Alexander Georgiev – Kodjakafaliya" hall at the "Sea Casino" Cultural Center. Visitors will be able to enjoy the exhibition until November 30th, 2025.

This event marks the second presentation of a planned cycle of five exhibitions, united by the common theme of "out-of-context thoughts and scribbles". Thematically connected, they trace the author's long-standing explorations in various spheres of artistic realization in transmedia spaces.

Visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with drawings and texts created between 2004 and 2025. The works are the result of work in intertwining semantic, plastic, and technical planes. The exhibits are grouped into three illusory-nominative genre registers.

The first is "Storybeard", which includes 64 out-of-context and non-chronological self-portraits of the artist. They are realized in mixed media on corrugated cardboard, with dimensions of 30x30 cm.

The second register, "Storyboard", presents 64 graphite miniatures, made on banana paper in a 6x7 cm format. They are presented as a storyboard for a three-minute animated film.

The third part, "Storybread", includes 64 out-of-context color drawings in A5 format, executed on paper in mixed media. They are inspired by the drawings for the storyboard.

The exhibition is installed by means of 64 three-dimensional objects and presents an encrypted attempt to improvise a tracking of the manifestations of talent, fear, joy, and ambition, as well as the implosions of love and desires between paper artifacts and representatives of several biological archetypes.

The opening of the exhibition coincides with the day of Saint Mina, who is venerated as the patron saint of orphans and the homeless. Saint Mina is also considered the protector of all folk healers, healers, warriors, as well as people who have embarked on a long journey. His day is associated with the period of the Wolf Holidays, a time when the nights are longest.
