On June 5, a representative exhibition will be opened in Burgas, presenting over 2000 works of art from the collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The exhibition "Diplomacy and Art" is a continuation of the exhibition of the same name from 2019 and includes works by established Bulgarian artists from the post-war period to the present day.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria has accumulated an impressive collection of over 2,400 works of fine art over the decades. This remarkable collection will be presented to the Burgas public on June 5 at the "Atelier" gallery of the National Academy of Arts - Burgas Branch.

The exhibition "Diplomacy and Art" is a kind of continuation of the eponymous exhibition organized in 2019 on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian diplomatic service. It includes 22 emblematic paintings from the collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing the achievements of established Bulgarian artists from the post-war period.

Among the presented authors are artists from the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s of the 20th century, such as Konstantin Starkhelov, Deniu Chokhanov, Atanas Mikhov, Vladimir Manski, Boris Nenov, and others. The emphasis is on landscapes, reflecting the mission of the fund to create an aesthetic environment in official and representative spaces and to promote Bulgarian art around the world.

The chronological completion of the exhibition is marked by two works by the world-renowned Bulgarian artist Altzek Mishev, who lives and works in Italy. His miniature on wood reproduces his emblematic action "Swimming across the Atlantic" (1979–1982), and for the Burgas exhibition, he has donated his new work "Wind".

The event is realized with the media partnership of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency and can be viewed until the end of June in Burgas.
