German Business Sees Bulgaria as a Hub for Investments

Economic development and remarkable fiscal stability are making Bulgaria an extremely attractive destination for foreign investments. This assessment was expressed by Michael Schumann, Chairman of the Board of the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA), during a meeting with President Rumen Radev. The conversation took place at "Dondukov" 2 and brought together representatives of German businesses who have a specific interest in the opportunities in the country.

During the discussion, which took place at the invitation of the Head of State, Schumann highlighted the potential for a significant expansion of economic ties between the two countries. He emphasized that more and more German companies can expand their presence in Bulgaria. According to him, the country is impressive with its economic development in recent years, as well as with its stable fiscal policy.

Main areas of cooperation

The Chairman of the BWA pointed out that Bulgaria is distinguished by a dynamic private sector and a stable public sector. He paid special attention to modern industrial sectors, including electronics and high technologies, which are developing at a rapid pace. According to him, all these factors collectively make Bulgaria an attractive place for investments.

He added that Bulgaria has a rich potential that has not yet been fully utilized and it would be a wasted opportunity if this does not happen. As key areas for future investments and cooperation, Schumann highlighted energy and infrastructure projects, the agricultural sector, the service sector, research and development, and education.

During the meeting, the topic of cooperation in the field of security and defense was also touched upon. Schumann described Bulgaria as "a very stable and reliable partner in the European Union in this sector".
