On June 2 at 6:30 pm at the Center for Contemporary Art and Library - Burgas, the third solo exhibition of photographer Evelin Dobrev will be opened. The exhibition is titled "Imaginary Movements" and is an invitation to immerse ourselves in the silence of those imperceptible pauses where movement becomes contemplation, and reality becomes poetry.
The frames captured in 14 black and white photographs capture the restless freedom of the Philippines, but also echo the quiet, deep spirituality of Burgas - a city born of the sea and grown with the freedom of the horizon. Burgas and the Philippines, like two shores of the same inner sea. In them, Evelin Dobrev finds not a difference, but a rhythm. Where the waves whisper in different languages, the photographer's gaze translates the human - without words.
"It's not individuality that matters, but human presence. That's why each of us can find ourselves in these photographs," says Evelin. The photographs in the 50 x 70 cm format convey a sense of movement without direction, of time without boundaries.
The opening will be accompanied by a glass of wine and a conversation with the author, in the spirit of the free sharing that the exhibition itself carries. The event is part of the cultural calendar of the Municipality of Burgas and supports the city's candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2032.
