Burgas State Opera will stage the children's musical "Patilantsi" on Saturday, 10 October, at 11:00 on its stage, the opera said. The show opens the new season and is meant for young audiences.

The musical is based on a text by Ran Bosilek. It tells the story of Granny Tsotsolana from the "Patilan Kingdom" as a series of funny tales about the Patilan gang. Darina Glavanakova-Bakardzhieva directs, with music by Alexander Yosifov and a libretto by Bancho Banov.

Singers and actors from Burgas Opera take part. On Saturday, Magdalena Georgieva will play Granny Tsotsolana and Plamena Tsvetanova will be Aunt Stanislava. Petar Tiholov and Alexander Perperiev will play Uncle Gogo and Uncle Strati. Irina Dobrovolskaya plays Patilancho, Vesela Apostolova and Stefka Hristozova play Dana and Gana, and Milen Dinolov and Miroslav Dimitrov play Dancho and Gancho. Other Patilan characters also appear on stage.

Lady the puppy will again play the Tiger, in a tiger costume. The opera expects her to get the loudest applause once more.

Lina Peeva and Petar Tiholov are assistant directors. Ivan Tokadzhiev designed the sets, Galina Kalcheva choreographed the dances, and Kalina Popova is in charge of make-up and wigs.

The opera says children always respond well to "Patilantsi". It says children's shows with good music and direction enrich children in mind and feeling, and that art is an essential part of their spiritual growth.

Tickets are on sale on Grabo and Eventim, at the Chasovnika ticket centre and at the opera box office.
