The Ministry of Economy and Industry announced a large-scale project to map the Bulgarian manufacturing sector for more effective international positioning. A key focus of the strategy is creating a comprehensive sectoral analysis that will identify the production capacities of domestic enterprises.
During a ceremonial event, Minister Petar Dilov emphasized the need for a detailed study of the industrial landscape. "Currently, there is no comprehensive picture of the production capabilities of Bulgarian companies," he stated before representatives of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
Among the key initiatives is the development of a specialized digital platform that will present comprehensive information about Bulgarian companies, their products, and market potentials. The platform aims to facilitate access to current economic information for both Bulgarian and foreign companies.
The Ministry plans to regularly provide updated information on registration regimes and licensing requirements. This measure is aimed at supporting Bulgarian enterprises when entering international markets.
During this year's ceremony, a total of 15 prestigious awards were presented, including bronze Hermes statuettes and honorary diplomas. The Trade and Economic Affairs Office (TEAO) France took the leading place in the ranking, receiving special recognition for overall contribution to economic relations.
Among the distinguished trade representations were TEAO Albania, Korea, Moldova, and Greece. The Hungarian trade representation took third place in the annual ranking, while TEAO Tokyo received an honorary certificate from the ministry.
Minister Dilov emphasized the strategic importance of these offices not only within the European Union but also in distant markets. "Our trade representatives build new economic connections, promote the national brand, and attract investments," he commented.
The ceremony took place at a momentous time – 130 years since the creation of BCCI, the oldest national business organization, which continues to be a key factor in economic diplomacy and support for Bulgarian entrepreneurship.
Among the official guests were Deputy Minister Doncho Barbalov, BCCI Chairman Tsvetan Simeonov, and Deputy Chairman Vasil Todorov, who demonstrated their support for efforts towards international economic expansion.
