Repair activities on the "Trakia" highway are restricting traffic towards Sofia.
From June 16 to 18, traffic on Trakia Motorway between km 145 and km 149 in the direction of Sofia will be limited to one lane to carry out repair work on the asphalt surface. Drivers are urged to comply with the speed limit and not to undertake risky maneuvers to ensure the safety of all travelers.
Important road markings on road II-99 Burgas-Tsarevo
On June 16 and 17, activities will be carried out to lay road markings on a section of road II-99 between Burgas and Tsarevo. Drivers must drive carefully and follow the signs in place.
European funding secured for key sections of the "Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo" motorway
The Monitoring Committee of the "Transport Connectivity" Program 2021–2027 approved funding for two important sections of the "Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo" motorway - the Ruse-Byala section and the Byala bypass. The total value of the investment is close to 2 billion leva, with over half being non-refundable EU funds. The projects will increase the capacity, safety, and connectivity in Northern Bulgaria.
Maintenance of the joints of the A4 "Struma" motorway in the Kyustendil region during the next week
During the period June 16-20, warranty maintenance of the joints of three facilities on the "Struma" motorway in Kyustendil region will be carried out. Traffic will be limited to one lane, and drivers must drive carefully and follow the temporary signage.
The passage through the "Petrohan" pass is temporarily restricted for heavy vehicles.
From June 16 to July 11, 2025, the movement of trucks over 3.5 tons through the "Petrohan" pass will be restricted at certain hours and days to facilitate the travel of local residents. Alternative routes for heavy-duty vehicles are also planned.
Temporary restriction of traffic on the Hemus Motorway for the removal of vegetation
During the period of June 16-19, the overtaking lane between km 2 and km 15 of the Hemus Motorway in the direction of Varna will be restricted to improve visibility in the section. Drivers are urged to drive carefully and observe the restrictions.
Repair activities on the Trakia Motorway in Pazardzhik and Sliven regions - two-way traffic and temporary restrictions
The Road Infrastructure Agency announces the completion of asphalt works on the section of the Trakia Motorway in Pazardzhik region. From June 13, traffic will be two-way on the repaired lane towards Burgas. Repair activities continue on sections from Sofia to Burgas, with temporary restrictions and traffic organization being introduced.
Repair activities on the Struma Motorway require careful driving.
The repair of the 3rd kilometer of the "Struma" motorway in the direction of Blagoevgrad continues. Traffic is being carried out in the overtaking lane, while the active and emergency lanes are closed. The repair work will continue until June 14, and the Road Infrastructure Agency calls on drivers to follow the safety rules.
Bulgarian national revival figures inspire new locomotives of the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ)
The new locomotives of BDZh will bear the names of famous Bulgarian Revival figures who contributed to the development of rail transport in the country. The initiative is a continuation of a previous project, with each locomotive containing a QR code linked to the respective historical figure.
Repair activities on a key Sofia node are restricting traffic in June.
During the period June 16-28, a gradual restriction of movement will be introduced at the "Botevgradsko Shose" road junction in Sofia, connecting the Sofia ring road and the Northern High-Speed Tangent. Roadway repair activities require the closure of the outer lanes of the right carriageway in two sections of the junction.
Landslides on the Hemus Motorway in Lovech Region impose temporary traffic restrictions
The collapse of slopes continues in a 9-kilometer section of the Hemus motorway towards Varna, in the Lovech region. Traffic will be temporarily restricted and diverted to bypass routes to carry out the necessary repair activities and ensure the safety of travelers.
An agreement has been reached to complete the Struma Motorway without damaging the Kresna Gorge.
After an active dialogue and signing of agreements between state institutions and environmental organizations, the complaints have been withdrawn and the legal proceedings related to the construction of the last section of the "Struma" Motorway through the Kresna Gorge have been terminated. The reached agreement aims to permanently divert transit traffic outside the gorge, while preserving the I-1 (E79) road for local use.
Limitation of traffic on Struma Motorway for road surface repair
On June 12, traffic will be restricted on the "Struma" motorway at the 1st km in the direction of Blagoevgrad, due to road repair work on the asphalt surface. Traffic will flow in one lane, and drivers are urged to drive carefully and follow the instructions of the temporary signage.
The Ruse Danube Bridge will be closed for repairs over the weekend.
Tomorrow, June 12, from 20:00 to 04:00 on June 13, traffic on the Danube Bridge in Ruse will be stopped for urgent repair of the expansion joint in the unrenovated section of the facility. The major repair of the bridge began in July 2024 and is ongoing, with traffic flowing in both directions on the lane where no work is being carried out.
Temporary restriction of traffic on Struma motorway for graffiti cleaning
The traffic at the 45th km of the "Struma" motorway will be restricted to one lane in the direction of Blagoevgrad and Sofia on June 11 and 12 due to the cleaning of facilities from graffiti. Drivers are urged to drive carefully and follow the temporary signage.
