IKEA recalls garlic presses due to risk of metal particles
The Consumer Protection Commission announces the recall of IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL, black garlic presses, with barcode 20152158 and batch numbers from 2411 to 2522 due to the risk of small metal particles separating, which could end up in food. Consumers are urged to stop using the product and return it to an IKEA store for a full refund.

The Consumer Protection Commission takes strict measures against speculation with the introduction of the euro.
The chairperson of the Consumer Protection Commission, Maria Filipova, announced a detailed plan to counteract any potential speculation in commercial establishments after the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria from January 1, 2026. The Commission will conduct inspections of high-risk establishments and impose fines of up to 50,000 leva for each violation.
Repair activities on the Struma Motorway require careful driving.
The repair of the 3rd kilometer of the "Struma" motorway in the direction of Blagoevgrad continues. Traffic is being carried out in the overtaking lane, while the active and emergency lanes are closed. Bulgarian national revival figures inspire new locomotives of the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ)

Repair activities on a key Sofia node are restricting traffic in June.
During the period June 16-28, a gradual restriction of movement will be introduced at the "Botevgradsko Shose" road junction in Sofia, connecting the Sofia ring road and the Northern High-Speed Tangent. Landslides on the Hemus Motorway in Lovech Region impose temporary traffic restrictions
The collapse of slopes continues in a 9-kilometer section of the Hemus motorway towards Varna, in the Lovech region. Traffic will be temporarily restricted and diverted to bypass routes to carry out the necessary repair activities and ensure the safety of travelers.

The Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tsvetan Simeonov, states that the concerns about the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria are unfounded. He points out that the country meets the criteria for joining the Eurozone and that its economic indicators are better compared to other EU countries that have not adopted the single currency.
Farmers submitted over 62,000 applications for direct payments in 2025.
The 2025 direct payments campaign was completed successfully and on time, without an extension of the application deadline. A total of 62,808 farmers submitted applications, declaring 1,124,689 parcels with a total area of 3,858,429 hectares. The data shows a trend of gradual consolidation of farms, with the greatest interest in interventions related to climate, environment and animal welfare.
An agreement has been reached to complete the Struma Motorway without damaging the Kresna Gorge.
After an active dialogue and signing of agreements between state institutions and environmental organizations, the complaints have been withdrawn and the legal proceedings related to the construction of the last section of the "Struma" Motorway through the Kresna Gorge have been terminated. The reached agreement aims to permanently divert transit traffic outside the gorge, while preserving the I-1 (E79) road for local use.
Expansion of hail protection in Northern Bulgaria with new rocket platforms
The government plans to expand the hail protection system in Northern Bulgaria by building 21 new missile platforms in Pleven region, 4 in Lovech region and 3 in Veliko Tarnovo region. This will provide protection for over 230,000 hectares of agricultural land, complementing the existing system that already covers over 2 million hectares in the country's heavily hail-affected areas.
