From July 16 to August 1, 2025, a procedure for financial compensation of agricultural producers with destroyed fruit areas will start. The initiative is undertaken by the Management Board of the State Fund "Agriculture" as a mechanism for restoring the agricultural sector after severe climate damage.
Candidates for support must meet several key conditions. First, they should have official findings protocols certifying the complete destruction of agricultural crops. An inter-agency expert working group, appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, will conduct a thorough review of the documentation.
Financial support will be differentiated according to the type of affected fruit crop. For cherry plantations, compensation of up to 5,535 leva per hectare is envisaged, for sour cherry - up to 5,442 leva, and for apricot - a maximum of 6,385 leva per hectare. The state aid will cover up to 80% of the actual cultivation costs for the respective crop.
An important condition is for candidates to prove that they have followed all technological requirements and good agricultural practices. In case of identified violations, financial support will be refused. Full application instructions are publicly available on the official website of the State Fund "Agriculture".
The mechanism aims to protect the interests of agricultural producers and provide partial compensation for losses incurred from adverse climatic conditions.
