Increased control over agricultural land and forests

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF) has launched a large-scale inspection across the entire country. The goal is to ensure compliance with legal requirements regarding activities that affect our national wealth – the soil and forests.

Land is a national asset and enjoys the special protection of the state and society, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria.

What will the inspectors check?

The inspections are aimed both at prevention and at identifying violations of the Agricultural Land Protection Act (ALPA) and the Forestry Act. Strict administrative and punitive measures will be imposed in cases of established abuse.

In parallel with these inspections, the MAF is also continuing work on updating data in the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) for the 2026 Campaign.
