Heavy traffic on major motorways
Currently, traffic on the "Trakia", "Hemus", and "Struma" motorways is extremely heavy. Inspector Velin Todorov from the Traffic Police pointed out that the highest intensity is observed on the "Trakia" motorway due to the mass return of travelers after the end of the weekend.
Temporary traffic restrictions for heavy goods vehicles heading to the capital have been implemented between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM today.
Traffic Police statistics
Mass checks by law enforcement authorities have led to the detection of numerous violations over the past 24 hours:
- Over 4,200 traffic tickets issued;
- Over 250 speeding penalties;
- Over 760 violations of road signs and markings;
- Over 380 cases of drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Traffic Police urges drivers to be patient and follow traffic rules to avoid accidents during heavy traffic.
