Current situation at border checkpoints
As of 6:00 a.m. this morning, the General Directorate "Border Police" reports intensive traffic at two main border checkpoints:
- Kapitan Andreevo BCP: Intensive traffic for outgoing trucks.
- Kalotina BCP: Intensive traffic for outgoing cars.
For those traveling to Romania: Traffic on the Danube Bridge (Ruse – Giurgiu) has been restored in both lanes following completed repairs.
Restrictions and ferry connections
Due to the low water level of the Danube River, the ferry connections at Oryahovo – Bechet and Svishtov – Zimnicea have temporarily suspended operations.
Normal situation
Traffic at the borders with Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia is normal. Only cars and vans up to 3.5 tons may pass through the Greek checkpoints of "Rudozem," "Zlatograd," "Makaza," and "Ivaylovgrad," while the remaining checkpoints also service heavy goods vehicles.
