Increased inspections on the beaches in the Varna region
Institutions in Varna are joining forces to curb violations along the coastline. Regional Governor Mario Smarkov held a working meeting with representatives of six state structures and four municipalities to coordinate joint actions for the protection of biodiversity.
"Only synchronized actions by the competent structures can effectively influence compliance with the rules for camping and using the beaches," the participants in the meeting stated firmly.
What violations were identified?
- On the "Byala – Karadere - 2" beach, numerous caravans, campers, and tents were found, which led to the issuance of acts under the Black Sea Coast Spatial Development Act.
- On "Byala – Karadere - 1", the removal of illegal shelters has begun.
- In the municipality of Byala, the construction of an illegal eco-village was discovered, for which demolition orders have already been issued.
The mayor of Dolni Chiflik municipality, Krasimira Anastasova, noted that thanks to systematic inspections during the last season, the number of violators has significantly decreased this summer.
Upcoming measures
Municipalities have been urged to place information signs in several languages that clearly explain the usage regime of the beach strip, the conditions for camping, and the amounts of fines for identified violations.
