Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of the "BSP - United Left" coalition, Atanas Zafirov, stated in Nikolaevo that there is no reason to reconsider their participation in the government, as social benefits are protected in the new draft budget. He emphasized that the coalition had stated they would reconsider their participation in the government if social benefits were not protected in the budget.
Asked whether "BSP - United Left" is ready for early elections, Zafirov replied that the topic of elections is always on the agenda in society and in politics. "We are always ready for elections, there is no reason to worry, because everything we do is public and for the society," he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister also commented on the protests demanding the government's resignation, pointing out that the coalition hears the people from the protests. "As you can see, a large part of the things that caused this tension are reflected in the budget, and the government's resignation is not on the agenda," he said.
Atanas Zafirov pointed out that he is in Nikolaevo for the groundbreaking of a project for asphalt paving of a central street and for the opening of a water pipeline, which solves a long-standing problem. "It is very important to know that for us the most important thing is to have stability, predictability, and the investment process in the country not to stop.
