Arrest following arson of a luxury vehicle
The police in Burgas have identified the perpetrator of a criminal act that shook the Sunny Beach resort complex. A 42-year-old man from the village of Mamarchevo, Bolyarovo municipality, who has a criminal record and has been previously convicted, has been detained for setting fire to a Mercedes Maybach with Sofia registration.
The incident occurred on July 29 at around 11:00 PM in the parking lot in front of the Marak-1 Hotel in Sunny Beach.
Investigation and arrest
As a result of a specialized police operation, the perpetrator was identified and apprehended. Investigators have gathered a solid volume of physical evidence that directly implicates the man. He has already been charged with the crime.
- The supervising prosecutor extended his detention to 72 hours.
- The District Court in Nesebar imposed the most severe preventive measure – "remand in custody."
Work to clarify all circumstances surrounding the case is ongoing, announced the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas.
